Author’s commentary

Merry Misguidance! I mean, Merry Christmas! A comic strip about the old trope and not-so-good advice about singing everything you want to say. I don’t know if someone ever tried this but thanks to The King’s Speech, maybe someone did. In any case, it’s terrible advice.

It was definitely a challenge coming up with the various speaking situations that fit the Jingle Bells tune. Especially since I originally created this in French for the December edition of the Association bégaiement communication newsletter. And my French is at the beginner level. Somehow I managed.

Then I wracked my brains coming up with English translations that fit the illustrations that were tailored for the French version! All using the same syllable count. The challenge here is French uses 30% more words than English. Somehow, I managed to get things to fit!

Challenging but still a lot of fun to solve.
